31 Days of Prayer for My Children: Day 31

I have indirectly prayed this, but it is the single most important prayer that I can pray as a mother.  So here it goes again:

Dear Lord, I pray that my children come to know you at a very young age.  I pray that they are saved and cling close to your side, especially during their teenage years.  I pray that they allow Jason and I and our church to minister to them.  I pray that they trust you and lean on you.  I pray that they are more concerned with heavenly things than others their age.  I pray that their faith in you and devotion to your word and calling keep them safe from the temptations of the flesh.  God, save my children....your children.

31 Days of Prayer for My Children: Day 30

Father, I pray that my children trust you to guide their steps, and I pray that they trust me to guide decisions they make in their youth.  Help them realize that I am seeking your face in my life and in theirs.  Help them to honor my wishes and trust to trust me.

“’For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future,’” (Jeremiah 29:11).

God, help my children see others as you do.

 I found the prayer below online and thought it was very appropriate for today’s prayer.

“Dear Lord, in 2 Corinthians 5:17, You remind me that if any person is in Christ, they become a new creation—the old is passed, the new has come. Please deepen my understanding of what You are doing in lives of those around me.  Give me Your power to let go of the “before” pictures I hold on to and offer forgiveness if needed. Give me Your eyes to see and celebrate the life change that You are bringing about. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Lord, I pray that my children have a heart for missions.

“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Eph. 2:10)

“You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you and ordained you that you should
Go & bring forth fruit." (John 15:16)

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations.” (Matt. 28:19)

“If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and Follow Me. “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matt. 6:24 & Matt. 4:19)

"In this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit" (John 15:8)

I pray that my children have a strong work ethic!

They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the honeycomb.

Lord, I pray my children develop a love for your word at an early age. I pray that they seek you from a young age and learn to turn to your word for guidance in all their decisions.

31 Days of Prayer for My Children: Day 25

This week I have bitten my tongue until it hurt! Stomach in knots and ready to spit nails...I bit it. This is not my strength. I have a hard time letting it go.

God, I pray my children learn to control their expression of anger and frustration. This is different than my prayer for kind words. Lord sometimes we never get there because our tongues are too quick.

Eccl 5:2 Do not be rash with your mouth, and let not your heart utter anything hastily...

31 Days of Prayer for My Children: Day 24

Father, I pray that my children are obedient. I pray they exibit obedience to us and to you.

Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.

Colossians 3:20 Children obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing.

Let my children be obedient because Jason and I expect it, because it is right, and because it pleases God!

Lord, help my children be Godly spouses.  Marriage is not easy, but it is worth it.  Help Jason and I to teach them to honor you by honoring each other and our marriage.

 1. To Reflect the Glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31; Colossians 3:17)

2. To Administer God's Grace and Love to One Another (Genesis 2:18; Ephesians 5:22-33; Philippians 2:3-4)

3. To Accomplish God's Rule Over the Earth (Genesis 1:27-28; 2:15-24)

Proverbs 22:6 Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.

Lord, I pray that my children become Godly parents.  I pray that they teach their children to love, honor, serve, and worship you.

31 Days of Prayer for My Children: Day 21

Galatians 6:5

“For each one shall bear his own load”

Lord, I pray my children have joy and laughter...their daddy's sense of humor, but God help me instill in them a maturity beyond their years. 

Help us teach them responsibility.  We all have responsibilities...life is not always a joke.  Deadlines must be made; hard work is required.  God I pray that my children are responsible with their lives, in all their activities.

Proverbs 17:22 (KJV)
"A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones."

God, give my spirit the gift of laughter.  Let it be their refuge in difficult times.  Let their light hearts minister and comfort others.
